Managing XML: rendering HTML in forms

• XSL Transforms can transform XML content to HTML on the fly, whether coming from a native source or from a rebuild from from a relational data store.
• The resulting HTML representation of data can then be represented by a standard web browser, used as an OLE/COM server
  • MSIE (Internet Explorer) is such an OLE server, that can be used with Paradox for just this type of situations
  • A vanilla Paradox form can combine Paradox-control-based display for non-XML data with MSIE-based display for data issuing from an XML data source
  • The on-the-fly generated document produced by the XSLT transformed can be served on the fly by the Corel Web Server OCX without any data file in between
• One can also add a Delphi TForm to a standard Paradox form using the addin SDK supplied since Paradox version 9 in the <wpoffice>\Paradox\Addins directory, to gain more powerful rendering, but this requires more work, and the use of Delphi itself.
